The data for this project was taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_peaks_by_prominence

Latitude and Longitude pairs were found by doing a search in Google

ex: "latitude and longitude of mt. mckinley"

The coordinates came up on the search screen

Terms to know: (from wikipedia site listed above)

The prominence of a peak is the minimum height of climb to the summit on any route from a higher peak, or from sea level if there is no higher peak. The lowest point on that route is the col.   It is a measure of the independence of a summit.

Height refers to the height above sea level.https://www.eskimo.com/~rachford/mountaineering/essays/prominence.html

Guiding Questions:

1.  What is the most prominent mountain?

2.  What is the least prominent mountain?

3.  Which continent contains the highest number of the top 25 most prominent mountains?
