Saved Vis - Methuen Teachers 2017 survey - Distance to work vs. travel time results
It is easy to see that as expected those who had to travel the furthest had the longest commute times. The two people who said they live a mile away said their commute was just 2-3 minutes. The two that lived the farthest away (25 & 30 miles) took the longest time (40 & 45 minutes respectively). The interesting results were the differences displayed when the time traveled was the same but the miles varied. For instance four people said their commute took 15 minutes. Yet their time traveled ranged from 3-20 miles. So this makes you wonder what the other variables are. Do some have more traffic than others? Did some not really estimate their travel time accurately? Do some make a stop for something like coffee en route? Those factors would need to be examined to get a clearer picture.
