Description

Students should upload their data, once compiled here: https://docs.google.com/a/methuen.k12.ma.us/spreadsheets/d/1meYBdRPxOy8bUq__8Q2Vztor__auwR5wWu-ZnvoC7fM/edit?usp=sharing

 Student Learning Assessment:

1. To which substances do fruit flies show a positive chemotaxis?

2. To which substances do fruit flies show a positive chemotaxis?

3. Were your hypotheses about the preference of the fruit flies supported or not?

4. Can you think of any reason for their preference?

5. Is there anything that was shared by all of the environmental factors to which the flies were attracted or repelled from? If so, explain why this may be.

6. How do you explain the behavior of fruit flies in someone’s kitchen or in nature based on the information you collected?

7. Manipulate the data to now show a bar graph with combined data sets. Choose side A and side B for the Y axis. Under tools, show the mean with deviation. Explain if the choice of side A or side B is significant or not.
