This bar chart shows the distribution of the values generated by three methods of determining the height of a table: 1) using a meter stick (long enough to reach from the floor to the top of the table), 2) a ruler (not long enough), and 3) estimation (without any actual measurements). Predictably, there was more variation among the data values generated by estimation than by the other two methods. Also, there was more variation in the values generated using the ruler than the meter stick.
